They sometimes seem to have nothing to do with each other in the text, a juxtaposition of impressions, existing singularly, though they do form a whole.
Words have a body, a sounding board, permanently vibrating and creating spaces in this movement, which stretches out, narrows, and multiplies itself further – stories arise on this word rhythm, plots are traced, broken off and newly established. Windows of perception merge seamlessly as well as the internal and external view.”
“My short prose pieces deal with the variety and simultaneity of spatial experiences in language, which I want to make to a tangible experience, to movement in the text of its language and words, which at best provoke new perceptions and perspectives in its readers.”Günther Kaip grew up in Linz, Austria and moved to Vienna in 1980 where he still lives and writes full time. His work has been published in anthologies, literary journals and magazines and includes poetry, short stories, novels, children’s books, clay structures and drawings. Günther Kaip also works for the Austrian Radio ORF, and German’s NDR. His work has been translated into English, Russian, Polish, Spanish and Turkish. He is a Member of the Austrian Writers Association GAV.Matthias Goldmann is a writer and translator based in Vienna. He has published essays, poetry and stories and created and exhibited computer text animations. He has translated numerous publications for publishing houses, museums, artists and authors in Austria, Germany and the US and cooperated with visual artists and authors on various projects and publication.
