Oftentimes, the wounds of the world weigh heavily on the mind. If compounded by personal challenges, they are likely to become a source of draining anxiety and despair.Against such a bleak backdrop this is an invitation to use the power of personal experience to pursue the common good. Even the blows of fate, if tackled with courage, grace and a dose of creative energy, can actually serve as veritable pathways to a world craving compassion and transformative action. Inspired by Mother Nature´s divine beauty – may the self-affirming qualities which poetry can display, be a source of solace, courage, hope and serendipity.Themes covered in this collection of Poems and Essays by Alejandra:
* Mother Nature as a wellspring of solace, serendipity and resilience.
* Self-knowledge as a window into the world.
* Misuse of otherwise worthy technologies.
* Freedom of speech and expression as a catalyst for change.
* Actions conducive to protecting the planet and its wondrous dwellers.
* Nurturing solitude.
* Creativity's depth and breadth.María Alejandra Benavent was born in Buenos Aires, describes herself as a “freedom-loving soul who cultivates kindness, honors basic rights and regards sentient beings as sacred. A worshipper of Mother Nature, citizen of the world. A bird of no fixed abode.”
Her tender years were shaped by the time spent as an exchange student in the United States. Having earned a degree in Public Translation, she started to work for the UNDP in Buenos Aires. A journey to Spain, the cradle of her ancestry, ended up in a love affair with an Austrian young man – her prospective husband and the father of their two adorable sons. Thirty years of her life teaching English in Vienna have not altered the essence of her being. Her winding path has led her to conclude that home is a dimension with no boundaries.
