Sisters in Science

Olivia Campbell

Sisters in Science: Conversations with Women in STEM by Olivia Campbell touches on the experiences of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics during World War II. It goes deeper into how these various disciplines were like for the female sex, speaking of, among other things, of the hurdles they had to overcome.Campbell highlights the hurdles and realities of (these) women in male-dominated fields, as they had to work against the current, as issues such as gender biases and underrepresentation were predominant. The goal to this book, aside from showcasing the strength of the described individuals, to make the topics accessible to those who aren’t in the scientific fields. Its goal is also to show that, despite hardships, great things can be achieved.
